An Update on IPhoneSMSToGmail

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

First of all, for those of you that have been sending questions about when IPhoneSMSToGmail will be ready as well as those of you that have been helping with beta testing and sending files, thank you. I have been very humbled by the response of those interested and the amount you have all been willing to help in the testing process. I released the first version of IPhoneSMSToGmail almost a year ago and after Apple changed the format they used to store data I thought the project would die. I removed the ability to purchase the program and stopped development. Low and behold here we are with lots of interest in the program, and an ever-lengthening development timeline, and for that I apologize.

I have decided to push out the release by another two weeks or so as the decision has been made to port the .NET code base to Java. More than half of the beta testers have expressed interest in an OS X version and instead of releasing a .NET version and later a Java version I've decided to combine both into a single distribution.

The development is about halfway done as of this evening, and I'm hoping to start shooting out updated beta links started at the beginning of next week. If you have not participated in the beta yet and would like to please feel free to send a note.

Thank you all once again for your great feedback, and I assure you development is moving as quickly as it can.

Java Convertin' Tom Out.
